Why Quantum Probabilities Follow the Born Rule

The Born rule, probability equals amplitude squared, is the empirical core of quantum mechanics, and in standard theory it is a postulate with no derivation.

This paper derives the rule physically: detection probability tracks the local deformation energy density of the substrate, which is quadratic in amplitude. The squared dependence stops being a postulate and becomes energetics.
