Rotation is observed at every cosmic scale, from planets to galaxy clusters and beyond. Establishing coherent rotation at the largest observed scales requires angular momentum transport over timescales that can be computed directly.
This paper computes those timescales and shows they exceed 13.8 billion years, presenting the result as a quantitative timescale argument concerning the age of the universe.
