A Physical Origin of the Fine-Structure Constant

The fine-structure constant, approximately 1 divided by 137, sets the strength of electromagnetism and has been called the greatest mystery in physics. Its value is measured, never derived.

This paper derives the constant from circulation geometry in a condensed substrate structure, matching the measured value to 0.05 percent, and demonstrates numerically that the result is robust across the physically allowed parameter space.
