What can have a score

Vijay's Law and Hierarchical Channel Accessibility (Papers P20 and P21): consciousness is the integrated multi-channel state of a physical system in the Spaticle field. To open any higher channel you must first have the basic gravity channel. That channel exists only for matter (mass). A photon, a vacuum mode, or any non-matter system has no mass, so it has no gravity channel, so CI0 = 0 and CI = 0.

Any system with mass has CI_floor = 1.0 on the human-reference scale, even if A, N and K have not opened. Setting the floor to zero would contradict Vijay's Law. P22: eta = 0 is unreachable for mass.

The formulas, as published

CI0 = CI_floor + C x Omega(V) x (1 + 0.38A) x N^1.3 x K^1.2
CI_floor = 1.0
C = 182.5283 (fixed so average human CI0 = 100)
Human reference: A = 0.85, N = 0.70, K = 0.70, V* = 1350 ml, Omega(V*) = 1
CI = CI0 x S

A is channel capacity (mean of five interaction channels). N is network integration. K is control depth. Omega(V) is the size factor: 1.0 at or below human brain volume; a penalty only above V*. The (1 + 0.38A) term stops a zero channel score from wiping out the whole product, which is required so a gravity-only mass still sits on the floor.

Survival factor S

CI0 is structural capability. S is whether that structure is sustained in real conditions. S does not change what the system is.

S = 0.35(1 - P) + 0.25(1 - E) + 0.20(1 - D) + 0.20 I
CI = CI0 x S

P predation risk, E environmental exposure, D disease vulnerability, I internal physiological stability. Each in [0, 1]. Only humans in the dataset reach S = 1.00. That is why a dolphin at CI0 = 123.9 has CI = 92.9, a virus at CI0 = 18 has CI = 4, and a dog at CI0 = 86 has CI = 76. Several animals beat the human average on CI0. They sit below it on CI because no other species reaches S = 1.00. The paper does not suppress those CI0 values.

What this page does not yet do

You cannot type A, N, K, V, P, E, D and I for an arbitrary organism here. That is possible. Those parameters are defined in P21, and the companion mapping already does it for 100 species. A public calculator that accepts new species will be added when each input uses the same sourcing rule as the paper.
