22. Steady-State Nucleosynthesis Independently Reproduces Helium

The same steady-state framework that resolves the Lithium Problem independently reproduces the second light element BBN is credited with. The observed helium-4 mass fraction of approximately 25 percent emerges as the thermodynamically preferred endpoint of ordinary stellar hydrogen fusion, set by helium-4's binding energy of 7.07 MeV per nucleon, the highest of any element producible at stellar temperatures; it is not set by a three-minute freeze-out epoch, and requires no primordial event to explain [P3].
