10. An Infinite Universe Is Not the Weird Option Once You Inspect the Alternative

Infinity feels large and unsettling, so it gets labelled strange, while a finite universe sounds safer. But the finite alternative requires its own unexplained boundary and its own unexplained moment of origin, reintroducing exactly the unanswered questions a finite model was meant to avoid. Once the finite option is specified in the detail Paper 5 works through, it carries the greater explanatory burden, not the infinite one [P5].
