27. The Flatness Problem Dissolves Without Fine-Tuning

The standard model requires the universe's early density to have been fine-tuned to extraordinary precision to produce the observed near-flat geometry, historically solved by invoking inflation. An infinite universe is flat by construction: there is no finite total curvature to fine-tune, and no mechanism is needed to rescue the geometry from collapsing or expanding away to nothing [P5].
