Unity of Consciousness
The observation that, despite processing many different kinds of sensory and cognitive information simultaneously through many different, partly independent brain systems, ordinary conscious experience is normally felt as a single, unified perspective rather than as a fragmented collection of separate experiences. Split-brain research is among the most direct empirical challenges to a simple picture of this unity.
