Abstract

Identifies time as accumulated substrate state evolution at a location — not a pre-existing dimension. Both SR and gravitational time dilation are derived from one physical mechanism: reduction of the substrate's finite propagation capacity. The Lorentz factor η = √(1−v²/c²) is the fraction of propagation budget available for internal processes. Causality, inertia, and the arrow of time are derived consequences rather than postulates.
